About Us

TEM grids made by TEM users

At Esper Biosciences, we aim to make great TEM grids with designs that make life easier for researchers. As a PhD student at Cornell, our founder, Jonathan Alden, worked on nanostructures and 2D materials, finding existing grids frustrating to work with. Membranes were either too thick for acceptable contrast, or so fragile they broke, wasting time, grids, and precious samples. A lack of unique labeling meant samples could be mixed up or lost; and under the scope, a lack of local labeling wasted expensive microscope time hunting for regions of interest. In Esper’s current and future TEM grids, we aim to solve these issues, allowing researchers to focus on doing the science they care about. Please check out our products!

Custom device fabrication

We also design and fabricate custom TEM grids. With nearly two decades of nanofabrication experience, we’re happy to help you solve your fabrication challenges, and make the perfect devices for your research. Please reach out if you think we could help!
